Rebecca Skloot on The Colbert Report

I thought I posted this a while ago but it looks like I didn't, oops! Here is Skloot talking about the book on Colbert's show. Good example of how to explain scientific subjects to a laymen public.

  1. And is it just me or does she sort of look like a brunette Dr. Newcomb?

  3. lol...she does look like Dr. Newcomb. Stephen Colbert can make anything interesting by making it very funny. I like the fact that they are both (although Colbert is very sarcastic about it) addressing the fact that the Lacks family isn't receiving any benefits from the HeLa cells. Hopefully this has drawn more attention to the matter especially for people who aren't familiar with the science community.
