The U.S apologizes

  2. Really, what good is an apology after 64 years??? And its coming from an administration that had nothing to do with it. I would feel that it is more damaging to the Guatemalan population to be ignored for many years and then slapped in the face (after way too much time has passed)with an apology. The US should of had the guts to address the situation at the time. Why can't people take responsibility for their own wrong doings.
    I will never understand how or why people can commit such cruel acts.

  3. I am just glad that there are rules and regulations to prevent this kind of stuff from happening again. These regulations have also been extended to protect and promote the humane treatments of animals in research too. When I did research at the VA, all of the techs and students were require to attend a lot of classes that covered everything from humane procedures to the ethical issues in animal studies before we can even set foot in the lab.
